Alana Gomez
Alana Gomez works as a general assignment reporter for WBZ-TV News. She joined the station in January 2010 after reporting for KPRC-TV in Houston, TX.
While at KPRC-TV, Gomez covered the tragedy at Fort Hood and the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. Before KPRC, Gomez worked as a writer, blogger, and field producer at KNTV in San Jose, CA. Gomez covered Beijing's preparation for the Olympics in a blog for NBC's owned and operated stations. Gomez also worked as a researcher with NBC's Beijing bureau and temporarily as an editor for special projects with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences San Francisco branch.
Gomez graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor of arts in Communication and studied International Relations, Spanish, and Mandarin.
Her hobbies include running and playing the violin.
Gomez grew up in Glendale, Arizona and currently resides in the Greater Boston area.
