Marathon Runners Are Ready For Race Day

  WBZ's Boston Marathon Coverage

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Boston Marathon runners practice their finish line stance with great anticipation, and they hold their bib numbers with pride.

On Saturday, thousands of runners took part in the expo at the Hynes Convention Center, loosening up their legs and getting some last-minute tips.

Judith Forman can't wait to get running. "Lots of rest, lots of pasta, water… hit it on Monday."

At the finish line, runners got the chance to stretch their legs and take pictures. Bob Call, 48, has completed more than 100 marathons in his life. "I've honestly lost count, but say about 120."

Each of the runners has their own story of why they are out here, and many say crossing the finish line is not the only goal. "I'm running for the summer jobs program, for Summer Jobs for Youth," said Michelee Audiet.

Judith Forman says she's running for Dana Farber. "I run with the team and I just hit that $5,000 mark."

The Boston Marathon is a great journey many can't wait to complete.
