Food Drive During Marathon To Help Needy

  WBZ's Boston Marathon Coverage

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Food banks are in dire need amid the recession, and several local agencies are helping out by holding a food drive during the Boston Marathon.

The food drive will help several local food banks and will be set up at several locations along the marathon route Monday.

Collection points:

Hopkinton: Colella's Supermarket, Library, 77 Main St, EMC, 77 Main St.
The Common on Marathon Weekend

Ashland: Police Station, Cedar Street Fire Station, Marathon Deli; Framingham - Keefe Tech, Salvation Army, MWRTA, Mass Bay Community College;

Natick: Police Station, Senior center, Town Hall, Eliot Healthcare.

The drive began on April 6 and will continue through the Marathon weekend.

It's hosted by Leadership Metrowest, Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce, Hopkinton Independent and the Metrowest Regional Transit Authority.
