Falling stocks have meant rising stress for investors these days.
It's been a rollercoaster ride and keeping track of daily financial news is making everyone dizzy.
Dr. Matthew McGonagle, Medical Director of Outpatient Psychiatry at Mount Auburn Hospital says financial woes are usually at the top of the worry list.
"Paying bills, supporting families, are we going to be okay? All these things have intensified for many people.
Employees in Boston's financial district say coping with the workload now is especially difficult.
They admit to getting less sleep, coming to work early and staying late.
"I take precautions to take care of myself. After work I try to decompress," says David Rietdijk, a data analyst at Putnam Investments.
Dr. McGonagle's best advice is to "stop, take a breath, tape a step back and don't assume the worst."
