Update on Haiti Earthquake

January 23, 2010

BOSTON (WBZ) ― It has been almost two weeks since Haiti got struck with the biggest earthquake in the country's history, causing complete devastation to its capital Port-Au-Prince. It is reported that more than 200,000 people were affected by this cataclysmic event that measured 7.0 on the Richter scale. This past Wednesday, a frightening 5.9 aftershock forced the people of Haiti to re-live this terrible experience. On this edition of "Centro", WBZ's Yadires Nova-Salcedo talks with Luis Matnog from the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay, about the current situation in Haiti and what you can do to help the victims.

For more information on how you can help the people of Haiti, you can call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767).

You can also text the word "Haiti" to 9-0-9-9-9 and make a $10 donation.
