Mia Davis, from The Campaign, says many Johnson & Johnson baby products
contain harmful chemicals.
"1,4 dioxane and formaldehyde are both cancer causing chemicals that are contaminants so they don't appear on the ingredient labels on the back of these products."
The group released a report in March of products that contain at least one of those chemcials. It includes Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo, Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and more. They want the company to change its ingredients by August of this year.

"We know Johnson and Johnson can do better because in Japan, where formaldehyde is banned from these products, Johnson and Johnson is making products that are free of formaldehyde," Davis said.
Johnson and Johnson issued a statement that says:
"...trace levels of certain compounds that were noted by the campaign for safe cosmetics can result from processes that make our products gentle for babies and safe from bacteria growth. the fda, the european union and regulatory agencies around the world consider these products safe."
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics hopes to get a response to their letter within the next two weeks.
