Mass. Gas Prices Up 19 Cents In A Week
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Gasoline prices in Massachusetts have made a major jump to a record high.
A statewide survey on Monday by AAA Southern New England found an average price of $3.38 per gallon for self-serve, regular unleaded.
That's 19 cents more than a week ago and 15 cents more than the previous record of $3.23 set in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
A year ago, gas was averaging much less -- $2.76 per gallon.
But prices in Massachusetts remain 12 cents below the national figure of $3.50.
