Some of the most expensive gas prices in the country are on the island of Nantucket where prices jumped 60 cents overnight.
The manager of Hatch's on Orange Street, Jason Brownell, said there were long lines Wednesday night when rumors of the pending price hike started to spread.
"Lines were out in the road until 9 o'clock when I closed up," Brownell said. "It was busier in four hours last night than it was in eight and a half hours all day."
Nantucket drivers are now paying a full dollar more than the state average.
