KeySpan Looks To Raise Natural Gas Rates
WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) ―
The parent company of KeySpan has asked state regulators to approve a rate hike averaging 27 percent for its 820,000 natural gas customers in Massachusetts.
National Grid says if approved, the new rates would be in effect from May 1 through Oct. 31 and raise the average residential bill by $15 per month.
The increase would vary slightly based on usage and geographical location.
National Grid said in a statement that it plays no role in setting the market price for natural gas and does not mark up the price when passing it on to customers.
