Stop & Shop Recalls Potato, Tuna Products
QUINCY (WBZ) ―
Stop & Shop has pulled two food products off its shelves.
Several potato products are no longer being sold because of possible bacterial contamination.
The company says it has pulled 20 oz. bags of Giant Food LLC's Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns, Simply Potatoes Homestyle Slices and Simply Potatoes Red Potato Wedges.
The items all have "use by" dates on their packages ranging from March 29 to April 3, 2009.
They're also recalling packages of Genova solid light tuna in olive oil, after Tri-Union Seafoods issued a precautionary recall.
The company says product labels did not list soybean oil as an ingredient and some people may be allergic to it.
The five-ounce containers have a "Best By" date of Oct. 17, 2012.
