Fans of the hot new vampire flick "Twilight" will have more to sink their teeth into. Hot on the heels of the movie's $70 million opening weekend, it's been revealed that there will be a Twilight sequel.
All the major actors and the director from the megahit have signed on for the 2010 sequel "New Moon"
Stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart sent a special e-mail to "Twilight" fans, thanking them for their "amazing support" at the box office and confirmed that the studio is moving forward with plans to adapt the second book into a movie.
The pending sequel centers on the growing friendship between mortal heroine Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, and werewolf Jacob, played by Taylor Lautner.
The potential pitfall in making the sequel is the fact that Pattinson's charter, Edward Cullen, isn't in much of the second book. So filmmakers will either need to figure out a way to bring Edward into the plot, or risk disappointing fans to stay true to the script.
The "Twilight" story is based on a four-book series by Stephenie Meyer that has sold more than 17 million copies.
