One million people attended Boston's big New Year's Eve party Monday night.
It was the city's 32nd First Night celebration, the oldest New Year's Eve party of its kind in North America.
The festivities officially began with the Grand Procession down Boylston Street at 5:30 p.m.
Then, there were "family fireworks" over the Boston Common at 7 p.m.
The night ended with a fireworks display over Boston Harbor at midnight.
Hundreds of artists performed or exhibited their works at 40 locations.
Another major attraction was the half-dozen ice sculptures around the city, each weighing between 30 and 45 tons.
