Boston fans can rest easy as they bite into Fenway dogs -- food at the ballpark passed safety inspections.

Health inspectors were out in force Tuesday checking food sold at Fenway Park as the 2009 Red Sox season kicked off.
Inspectors checked food safety at the park after
Fenway food stands failed inspection on last year's opening day.
Inspectors checked on about 80 stands in and around the ballpark Tuesday afternoon. While many passed the tests with flying colors, others had some minor violations, inspectors told WBZ's Kathy Curran.
Inspectors checked to make sure hot served foods were kept at high enough temperatures to prevent bacteria growth, and that cold served foods were kept just cold enough.
"We're looking to make sure that all the food is properly cooked and properly protected, that people are washing their hands, and that food is properly stored," said food inspector Thomas Goodfellow with the Boston Inspectional Services.
"They come here. They inspect and make sure everything is up to temperature and that everything is clean," said Bob Kaitz with Coast To Coast Sausage. "We pass it every time."
Inspectors found beef tips at the Hill Top were cooked to perfection while hotdogs and hamburgers sold on the Green Monster had to be thrown out because the vendor didn't have hot water.
Some food sold in right field had to be thrown out because it wasn't being kept at proper temperatures.
"The vast majority of all the issues have been checked and certified by the Board of Health," said Aramark manager Kevin Haggerty. "So I think the food is very safe to eat."
Despite getting good reviews on opening day, inspectors will continue to make some surprise visits to the park throughout the season.
