A Litchfield, N.H., couple took top honors for the biggest pumpkin as their entry tipped the scales at 1,471.6-pounds at the Topsfield Fair's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off.
See the pumpkin for yourself.
It wasn't a record, but Bill and Linda Rodonis were happy with the win after just missing top honors for the past two years. And they also earn bragging rights for the Granite State.
"I've been a farmer all my life. When I retired, I started as a hobby to utilize my time," Bill told the
Eagle-Tribune.
The Rodonises say they're a pumpkin-growing team.
The second-place pumpkin weighed in at 1,409 pounds.
The weigh-off is an opening tradition at the fair, according to the paper. In fact, the Guinness world record was set at the fair back in 2007 when a Rhode Island couple brought their 1,689 pound pumpkin.
