Lose Weight While You Shop

It's getting to that time of year when many of us are struggling to stick with that resolution to lose weight.
Finding time to exercise is a common complaint among dieters. But experts say, if you have time to get to the mall, you have time to exercise.
Kellie Gould of iVilllage.com says it's easy to get in a workout while you shop. "You're getting two things done at once which is great. Women are natural multitaskers," she says.
But can you really burn calories hoofing it around the mall? According to Gould, a 150 pound woman can burn up to 240 calories walking leisurely for about an hour.
Here are a few tips to maximize your workout.
Gould suggests parking the car as far away as possible. When you get inside, pick up the pace. Avoid the escalator and the food court entirely and bring a healthy snack.
You don't need any special equipment to workout at the mall, but using an inexpensive pedometer will keep track of your steps and help keep you motivated.
