Boston Hospital Treats Obesity Without Surgery

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital has begun trials on a procedure that would treat obesity without surgery.

Brigham is the first hospital in the nation to attempt the procedure of passing a tube through the patient's throat and then use a tiny needle to sew the stomach, making it get full on less food.

The procedure is similar to stomach stapling, but doctors say the risk is minimized because there is no cutting involved.
