BOSTON (CBS4) ― Caregivers at Children's Hospital Boston work 24/7 to help save young lives and now it is our year round mission too, through the CBS 4 Kids campaign.

As part of this partnership, the station is embarking on a week long effort to raise needed funds to continue life saving patient care and ground breaking research. The week culminates on Friday December 9, with the CBS 4 Kids Day of Giving.

For 23 years, CBS4 has been partnered with Children's to raise money that helps the doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital Boston save the lives of children.

Children like 4 month-old Angel and 2 year-old Alex, who were featured on Sunday With Liz Walker. The young brothers both have life saving pacemakers, and new hope for normal lives, thanks to Children's Hospital. You can watch their story in the video box to the right of your screen.

During CBS4 News this week, you'll meet some courageous local kids who are alive today because of the care they received at Children's Hospital Boston.

Then on Friday, we invite our CBS4 viewers and our visitors to CBS4Boston.com to open their hearts and donate during the CBS 4 Kids Day of Giving. You will be able to donate online, or by calling a donation hotline. The phone lines will be open from 5 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.

On Saturday, December 10, Lisa Hughes will host a half-hour fundraising special at 1 p.m. on CBS 4.

Funds from the CBS4 program are directed toward unrestricted charitable support, which funds areas of greatest need: patient care, research, and community outreach and education.
