General Mills Recalls Some Granola Nut Clusters

(AP) General Mills Inc. is recalling some Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters products because they may be tainted with salmonella.

The Golden Valley-based company says the source of the potential contamination is pecans provided by an unidentified supplier.

The product is a bag of bite-size granola clusters sold in stores and vending machines. Wednesday's recall applies only to the "Nut Lovers" flavor.

The recall covers products with the following "best if used by" dates: March 7, 2010; March 8, 2010; March 9, 2010; March 10, 2010; and March 11, 2010.

The company says no illnesses have been reported, and no other Nature Valley products are being recalled.

People who have the recalled products should throw them away and contact the company for a refund.
