Dentists, Pharmacists Approved To Give Flu Shots
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
When the pandemic hits, the Massachusetts Public Health Council wants to make sure first responders are well enough to cope.
The Council has adopted emergency measures to encourage first responders to get their flu and swine flu vaccinations.
The state is expected to get 9 million doses of the flu vaccine, which is three times the amount of last year.
The council also voted to add dentists, pharmacists and paramedics to the list of those authorized to administer vaccines.
Public health officials are concerned that with two separate flu vaccines, they will need all the help they can get to keep up with demand.
