In the report filed with the Department of Public Utilities on Monday, Unitil, which provides service to Ashby, Fitchburg, Lunenburg and Townsend as Fitchburg Gas & Electric Light Co., says it had to restore four years worth of infrastructure in two weeks following
the Dec. 11-12 storm.
Some customers were without power for almost two weeks.
Unitil said it usually relies on help from other utilities, but the unprecedented nature of the storm made it difficult to find enough workers.
The company says it was proud of its response, but identified areas for improvement.
