A Georgia man charged with murder for allegedly killing a woman in 1984 in Boston has waived rendition proceedings in Georgia and is expected to be returned to Massachusetts on Wednesday.
Sultan Omar Chezulu, who changed his name from Robert Scott, is accused in theĀ
December 1984 slaying of 18-year-old Elsie "Yolanda" Hernandes.
The 60-year-old man is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Roxbury District Court.
Authorities announced Tuesday that they linked Chezulu to the unsolved murder through DNA left at the scene.
Hernandes' body was found in a garbage-strewn lot shortly after she left work. The medical examiner determined she died from blunt force trauma and strangulation.
