Woman Hit, Killed After Walking Onto I-95
WAKEFIELD (WBZ) ―
A Lynn woman was killed in a horrific highway accident early Thursday morning.
Lauren Casey, 24, of Lynn was driving on 95 North in Wakefield shortly before 3 a.m. when she lost control of her car, crashed into a guardrail and came to rest at the bottom of an embankment on the right side of the highway, police said.
After the crash, Casey got out of her vehicle and walked onto the roadway where she was hit by a car driven by Joseph Gamache, of Hudson, New Hampshire, police said.
Gamache and his passenger were not hurt in the crash.
Casey sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The middle and right lanes of the highway were closed while crews cleaned up and investigated the scene.
