Albert Arroyo, 46, reported that he fell down some stairs in the Jamaica Plain firehouse on March 21 and reinjured an old back problem.

The former bodybuilding Boston firefighter broke his silence on Sunday and spoke to a local radio station about being fired from the department.
Albert Arroyo, 46, was videotaped participating in a bodybuilding competition in May, six weeks after he suffered what he claims was a career-ending back injury.
Arroyo was ordered to return to work as an inspector after the tape surfaced, but he did not.
Last week, the Boston Fire Commissioner and other officials decided not to reinstate Arroyo. The commissioner said evidence to support Arroyo's disability claim was not sufficient enough.
"I feel betrayed after all these years," Arroyo said during his interview on
96.9 FM Sunday.
"The union could do much better than what they are doing now," Arroyo's attorney Neil Osborne added. "We are challenging the Boston Fire Department to be fair."
Arroyo was trying to get reinstated so he would continue receiving permanent disability pension.
