O'Malley Has A Busy Week Ahead
VATICAN CITY (CBS4) ―
It was one month ago that O'Malley got word that pope had chosen him to become a cardinal, and on Friday of this week -- surrounded by about 6,000 people -- Archbishop Sean O'Malley will become Cardinal Sean.
While at the Vatican, O'Malley will be keeping a very busy schedule, starting on Tuesday, but some of the most important events will begin Thursday.
On Thursday, Archbishop O'Malley will meet privately with Pope Benedict for a time of prayer and reflection.
Friday is the most important day. It's the consistory. That is when the archbishop will be elevated to cardinal.
On Saturday, the newly installed cardinal will take part in a special mass where the new cardinals will receive their rings -- and that ring is a sign of each man's lifelong connection to the pope.
