As many Massachusetts families figure out how they will afford four dollar a gallon gasoline, on the flip side there is a driving extravagance making its debut on the Boston stage.
Bentley unveils the
2009 Continental Flying Spur Speed in Boston Monday, the future home of the carmaker's North American headquarters.
When the 12 cylinder luxury sedan hits showrooms this fall, it is expected to carry a $200,000+ price tag.
This vehicle is not meant for the fuel-conscious. Drivers will get 11 miles per gallon in the city, 17 on average.
In addition to boasting 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, the interior of the Continental Flying Spur Speed is made of hand-crafted leather - reportedly using the hides of at least 11 cows per car.
