Wake For Fallen Firefighter Held In West Roxbury

The first of two wakes for the Boston firefighters killed in last week's restaurant fire was held in West Roxbury Wednesday.
Friends, relatives, and colleagues paid their respects to Paul Cahill at the Holy Name Church, where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.
Cahill, 55, joined the department in 1993 and served on Engine 30, Ladder 25. He was part of the first unit to respond to last Wednesday's fire at the Tai-Ho Mandarin and Cantonese restaurant.
He leaves behind a wife and three children.
Nineteen-year veteran Warren Payne, 53, was also killed in the fire. His funeral will be on Friday at the United House of Prayer on 206 Seaver Street in Dorchester at 11 a.m.
In a show of support, a group of Boston Police cadets offered their condolences to the families Wednesday morning. They took part in a moment of silence and placed a wreath in front of the West Roxbury firehouse, where the flowers and tributes continue to pour in.
According to local reports, an estimated 20,000 firefighters from across the country are expected to attend both funerals.
