Rain, Light Snow Dampen Morning Commute
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Light snow and rain dampened the morning commute Wednesday. The snow will likely be gone by the afternoon.
Snow showers started falling in western Massachusetts at about 6 a.m.
WBZ meteorologists say the storm should be gone by midday.
Roads were slick for the morning drive, especially north and west of Boston.
There will be minor accumulation with up to about an inch in higher elevations, including the Worcester Hills. WBZ meteorologists say it will be a rain and snow mix elsewhere with either a coating of snow or slush on the ground.
Communities south of the city can expect mostly rain, because temperatures will be warmer there.
Wednesday afternoon and Thursday will be sunny and clear, but there is a chance for another, bigger storm this weekend.
WBZ meteorologists it would start Saturday night and move into Sunday morning. It would start out as rain before changing to snow.
The forecast for Saint Patrick's Day looks good with sunny skies and temperatures in the 40's.
