 Slideshow: Minneapolis Bridge Collapse

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Governor Patrick says examinations of two-dozen Massachusetts bridges similar in design to the one that collapsed in Minneapolis show "no red flags."

Patrick says there's a key difference between the Minneapolis bridge and 24 similarly built bridges in Massachusetts.

The steel arch truss structure that collapsed in Minneapolis had welded joints, while the Massachusetts bridges have bolted joints.

Patrick says it's, "a different way of putting it together."

State officials had finished reviewing inspection reports of all but one similarly built bridge by this afternoon.

The exception was the busy Longfellow Bridge spanning the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge. That review will be completed by tomorrow.
