5th Death Threat Targets Bridgewater President

Words 'Murder' And 'Death' Mentioned In Threatening Messages

BOSTON (WBZ) ― One day after death threats were found written on the walls of four women's restrooms at Bridgewater State College, an additional message was found threatening the life of the school's president.

College officials said the message was also found on the wall inside a female restroom in the Rondileau Campus Center, directly threatening the life of college President Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria.

The death threats on Tuesday were found in the Maxwell Library, the Conant Science Building, the Rondileau Campus Center and Boyden Hall. The words "murder" and "death" were mentioned in the threats along with the specific date of Feb. 28.

Officials said Mohler-Faria decided that the college will remain open Thursday despite the threats, and he will be present on campus.

The college has enhanced its already heightened police presence.

Mohler-Faria and security officials agreed that all students and staff should be informed of the specific nature of the threats.

All classes will be held as scheduled Thursday. Students who choose to not attend class will face the normal penalties for class attendance in accordance with college policy.

Students with overnight Connect Card access to the Conant Science Building will temporarily not be allowed entry between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., school officials said.

The building will be open during regular business hours beginning Thursday morning.

Students and staff who have not already registered phone numbers with the emergency notification system can do so by clicking here.

There is a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in these incidents. Anyone with information or to report suspicious activity the BSC Police Department can call 508-531-1212.

Also on Wednesday, a bomb threat was found written on toilet paper in a women's bathroom at Framingham State College.  The threat said the bomb would go off on Friday.

No evidence of any bomb was found in the school. Security and school officials on both campuses are working together in their investigations.
