Firefighters Battle Smoky Brush Fire In Dorchester
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Boston firefighters battled a large brush fire on Hilltop Street near Granite Avenue in Dorchester Tuesday afternoon.
Large flames could be seen amid the massive smoke. Boston fire officials said the second-alarm fire broke out near the Ventura Street playground.
It burned about 12 acres and took firefighters about three hours to put it out.
Fire officials said the grass is very high in the area -- about eight to 10 feet -- and that's what caused so much smoke.
The fire is under investigation.
