The stars will be out Saturday night for the Grand Opening of the CBS Scene at Gillette Stadium.
Tom Brady and other members of the New England Patriots will be attending the restaurant opening as well as some CBS television stars.
Neil Patrick Harris of
'How I Met My Mother', Emily Proctor of
'CSI: Miami', Dennis Haysbert of
'The Unit' , Julie Chen of 'The Early Show' and
'Big Brother', and Jeff Probst of
'Survivor', are among the
CBS prime time television stars scheduled to attend.
CBS Sports personalities Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf, Dan Marino, James Brown, Bill Cowher, Shannon Sharpe and Boomer Esiason are also expected to be on hand.
CBS Scene has been in the works at Patriot Place for the last year.
On Thursday, workers put finishing touches on the new restaurant and bar in preparation for the invitation-only event.
CBS Scene's general manager, Michael Seznec, says the venue has three floors and a huge projection screen over the main bar, wrapping around two walls.
"We'll be able to have up to 24 small screens or make it one large screen," he said.
Seznec said should the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl again this year, CBS Scene will probably put the game on the big screen plus the other 130 flat screens around the room.
The individual flat screens are at nearly every table, each with state-of-the-art technology that allows customers to watch whatever they want. Classic TV moments will also be shown on the big screens.
"It works a little bit like an iPod where you can turn the wheel and select which show you what you want to watch," Seznec said.
The centerpiece to the CBS Scene is a spiral staircase that goes three stories high and is covered with high-tech monitors all in the shape of the CBS eye.
One of the architects of the project is Peter Sollogub of the local firm
Cambridge Seven Associates. Sollogub is one of the brains behind the staircase.
He said his inspiration came from a trip to CBS in New York.
"That was really the seminal moment, that was the real deal for us. We saw the studios, and we saw the sets," Sollogub said.
Sollogub and his fellow architects said they got a sense for the legacy of CBS, something that needed to be showcased in a spectacular way.
"And then we are putting in this staircase, and what happened was instead of making it something that's by the way, we made it the place to be," he explained.
A special kickoff party for the CBS Scene will air on WBZ-TV Saturday at 7 p.m.
While the grand opening is not open to the public, people are welcome to attend the red carpet event at 5:15 p.m.
