Holden Funeral Home Moved Down Street

HOLDEN (WBZ) ― In an organized and elaborate process, the former Caswell-King Funeral Home was moved a few hundred feet down Main Street early Friday morning.

After the windows were removed, crews installed steel jack posts on the second floor, to lift the 43-foot by 43-foot structure off its foundation.

The building was then rolled down the road very slowly to 1161 Main Street, just after midnight, due to the lack of traffic.

The old location will be turned into a Walgreens Pharmacy.  The owner wanted to move the funeral home so it wouldn't be demolished.
