She says it's the best tip she's had in 27 years as a waitress.
Charlene Lever now has two tickets to a Red Sox game next week, thanks to some generous customers.
Lever waited on a group of four last week at the Hilltop Steak House in Saugus.
She must have done a great a job. Instead of a cash tip on their $111 bill, they left her two tickets to the Red Sox-A's game July 13 at Fenway Park. "Would you rather have, um, money, or would you rather have these," said Lever as she described what happened. "And I went 'Oh my God,' and I knelt down at the table and said, 'I can't
are you serious?' She said yes, and I said 'My God
yes, these (referring to the tickets).'"
Lever won't be going to the game though. Despite being a huge Red Sox fan, she's decided to give the tickets to her daughters as birthday presents.
The grandstand tickets have a face value of $40 each. "It's definitely better than a few bucks on the table, so that's great for her," said Charlene's co-worker Melissa Shea.
Lever says she and her husband will see the Red Sox in September, during a trip to Baltimore.
