The man who calls himself
Clark Rockefeller has a new team of attorneys and they're facing a demand from his ex-wife.
The high-profile criminal law firm of
Denner-Pellegrino has joined defense attorney Stephen Hrones in representing Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter.
He is being held without bail on charges he kidnapped his 7-year-old daughter in the Back Bay July 27, sparking a search from Long Island to the Caribbean, before he was arrested Aug. 2 in Baltimore.
Attorney Jeffrey Denner told WBZ Gerhartsreiter's ex-wife Sandra Boss is demanding he reimburse her up to $80,000 for expenses she incurred after he disappeared with their daughter Reigh.
"Primarily, legal fees, including costs related to the search for Reigh and costs associated with her expense to stay in Boston during the week-long search and, thereafter, during the grand jury proceeding," Boss spokesman Gary Koops told the
Boston Herald.
Gerhartsreiter is also a "
person of interest" in the 1985 disappearance of a California couple.
The Herald is also reporting that California authorities have subpoenaed him in a bid to force his cooperation with their investigation.
Gerhartsreiter, 47, has pleaded not guilty to parental kidnapping, assault and other charges.
He's due back in Suffolk Superior Court Thursday.
