Conan O'Brien In Lawrence To Open Meals Center

LAWRENCE (CBS4) ― Brookline native Conan O'Brien came to Lawrence Monday to help out his college roommate with a good cause.

He attended the opening of the Cor Unum meal center at St. Patrick's Church on South Broadway.

Father Paul O'Brien led the effort to get the meal center built. He is O'Brien's house mate from Harvard. They are not related.

The two raised close to half-a-million dollars for the center, much of it through T-shirt sales.

According to Father O'Brien, three-quarters of the children living in Lawrence are at risk for hunger.

The Cor Unum Center will serve three meals a day, 365 days a year.

Cor Unum means "one heart" in Latin.
