NYC Bouncer Gets Life For St. Guillen Murder

NEW YORK (WBZ) ― A former New York City nightclub bouncer has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the brutal murder of a graduate student from Mission Hill.

Darryl Littlejohn was convicted of first-degree murder last month in Brooklyn for the 2006 killing of criminal justice student Imette St. Guillen.

The case spurred a crackdown on New York City nightlife security.

Littlejohn is already serving 25 years to life for kidnapping another woman.

The sentence is consecutive.

St. Guillen's family made tearful statements at the sentencing on Wednesday.

"Emotionally and physically, I have not been the same since that day. I think about Imette every moment of my life," said Imette's mother Maureen St. Guillen.

"I will never be a grandmother to a child of Imette's. I will never hear my daughter's laughter, never feel her arms around me, or her soft touch
as she brushes my hair. I will never again feel the joy and excitement of just seeing her smiling face, and I will never again witness Imette's sheer exuberance for life."

Prosecutors portrayed Littlejohn as a sexual predator who liked to pretend he was a law enforcement officer.
