Jury selection in the trial of a Waltham man charged with hiring a hit man to kill his estranged wife's boyfriend has been competed and opening statements are expected to begin on Thursday in Middlesex Superior Court.
Prosecutors say James Brescia paid $10,000 to ex-convict Scott Foxworth of Dracut to fatally shoot a man who was dating his estranged wife, Stacey.
The body of 39-year-old Edward Schiller was found January 13, 2006 slumped behind the wheel of his car in a private parking garage near his office at Aronson Insurance Co. in Newton.
Prosecutors allege Brascia thought he could fix his relationship with his wife with Schiller out of the way.
Foxworth, who served four years in prison for a 1978 murder, will face a separate trial in October.
Court records show Brescia met Foxworth through a co-worker at Raytheon and originally discussed beating Schiller.
Schiller was unmarried and had no children.
