Youth Counselor Fired Following Sex Allegation
Derrick Patrick Is Accused Of Paying To Have Sex With A Teen At The Ella J. Baker House In Dorchester
DORCHESTER (CBS4) ―
A Dorchester man has been fired from his position at the Ella J. Baker House -- a center in Boston for at-risk youths -- after a teen, who was spending time at the home, accused him of paying to have sex with her in the facility's bathroom.
The 17-year-old woman said the alleged incident occurred earlier this year.
Derrick Patrick is now charged with having sex for a fee and persuading a minor into prostitution.
Patrick was fired from the Ella J. Baker House in Dorchester on August 11.
Patrick has been working at the home for five years. He has also served jail time for armed robbery and assault. The facility often hires ex-convicts to work with people in the house to help them and encourage them to avoid a life of crime.
According to the Suffolk District Attorney's Office, the incident is still under investigation.
