Fairhaven Teens Face Felony Hazing Charges
FAIRHAVEN (CBS4) ―
Four Fairhaven High School football players were arraigned Friday on felony hazing charges.
The Standard Times of New Bedford reports the teenagers allegedly duct-taped a teammate to a bed, physically assaulted him and poured bodily fluids onto the alleged victim at Camp Wishbone, held in July at Camp Edwards in Bourne.
Fairhaven High principal Jean Cote told the newspaper that "several" members of the school's football team have been disciplined for violating the school's athletic code of conduct in connection with the alleged incident. Cote did not specify the number of students who were disciplined or what sanctions were levied against them.
Police have charged Kevin Gonsalves Jr. and Dylan Parker, both 17 from Fairhaven, with indecent assault and battery of a person over the age of 14.
The unidentified juveniles are facing similiar charges. If convicted, the teenagers face up to ten years in prison.
