The parents of Molly Bish, John and Magi Bish, were at the White House Thursday, having been invited to watch President Bush sign into law the Federal Child Protection Act.
The bill establishes a national internet database for convicted child molesters. Under the bill, the most serious offenders would also have to register for life.
Molly Bish disappeared six years ago from her lifeguard post at Comins Pond in Warren. Her remains were found in 2003 in the woods in nearby Palmer. Investigators are hoping to find her killer by matching DNA found on her remains.
John and Magi Bish have been outspoken advocates of child protection laws since Molly's disappearance. They were invited to Thursday's Rose Garden ceremony by Senator Ted Kennedy.
