Bomb Threat Made At Framingham State

FRAMINGHAM (WBZ) ― A building full of classrooms and labs at Framingham State College was evacuated Wednesday afternoon because of a bomb threat.

Students, faculty and staff were removed safely from Hemenway Hall after someone found a threat written onto toilet paper in a women's bathroom on the third floor.

The note claimed a bomb would go off February 29.

"The note indicated that there was a possibility of a bomb that would go off, to also include guns and that the building would blow up," said campus police chief Brad Medeiros.

The State Police bomb squad inspected the building and found nothing.

No one was hurt.

Hemenway Hall was shut down for the rest of the day and all classes there were cancelled.  The rest of the campus remained open.

Students, faculty and staff were notified of the threat by a new campus e-mail alert system that was going to be tested just before the threat came in.

This incident came a day after four threatening messages were found in womens bathrooms at Bridgewater State College.  Police at the two campuses are working together on their investigations.
