Suspect Arrested In Dominique Samuels Murder

BOSTON (CBS4) ― Boston police have made an arrest in the murder of Dominique Samuels. The young woman's burned body was found in Franklin Park nearly two weeks ago.

Sources are telling CBS4, 34-year-old Rodrick Taylor turned himself in to police earlier this afternoon.

Taylor will be arraigned on first degree murder charges Monday morning. District Attorney Dan Conley would not say how the suspect and victim knew one another.

The Globe is reporting Taylor allegedly bragged to friends about the murder. The paper also reports Taylor lied to police about the source of scratches on his body.

Investigators previously said they believed Samuels was strangled at another location, her body moved to the park and set on fire.

Samuels is a 2004 graduate of Milton High School and a former captain of the cheerleading squad there. She moved to Roxbury about 5 months ago and was living in a one room apartment on Woodbine Street.

Investigators removed several items from the home in the days after her murder.
