A Massachusetts man who was once named one of People Magazine's 'Most Eligible Bachelors' was cleared of attempted rape charges Friday.
Gary Zerola had been charged trying to rape 19-year-old woman who said he charmed her with gifts and drinks then attacked her.
The 36-year-old former prosecutor was found not guilty Friday in Middlesex district court. His attorney claimed the woman lied about the assault.
Zerola was named one of People Magazine's "Most Eligible Bachelors" in 2001 because of his looks and work with foster children. He also got a tryout for the reality TV show, "The Bachelor."
He still faces separate rape charges in two other alleged attacks on young women.
