Staffer: Patrick Has Been Treated Fairly
BOSTON (AP) ―
Governor Patrick says he was subjected to what he calls "hazing" by the Massachusetts political elite during his early weeks in his office.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Patrick says he now realizes that he needs to focus more on his image and engage in some of the (quote) "government by photo-op" that he campaigned against last fall.
But one of Patrick's new senior staff members seems to be backing away from what the governor told the Post.
Joe Landolphi told reporters today Patrick had been treated fairly by other politicians. He also says the governor doesn't feel like he needs to engage in (quote) "government by photo op" to improve him image.
Patrick used the word hazing in the Post interview to describe the criticism he got for upgrading his state vehicle, redecorating his office, hiring an appointments secretary for his wife and calling a banker on behalf of a former employer.
