Kidnapped Child Found Safe In Somerville

SOMERVILLE (WBZ) ―

Somerville police say they've found a toddler who was abducted by a relative Tuesday.

18-month-old Hayden Augustin-Laurent was allegedly taken from her East Somerville home by her 21-year-old aunt, Ketia Valmont.

Police spent the night searching for them.  Valmont's car was found overnight by Acton Police.

Investigators believe Valmont and her niece switched vehicles and drove back to their home in East Somerville Wednesday morning.

Police say they found them there and were attacked when they tried to arrest Valmont.  Two detectives were hurt when someone hit them with a bat.  The child was not hurt.

Valmont and three others - one of them a juvenile - were arrested.

They will be arraigned Thursday in Somerville District Court.

Police identified the other two adult women who were arrested as 31-year-old Tia Alcide and 20-year-old Danielle Valmont.
