Murder Victim Found Inside Holbrook Apartment

HOLBROOK (WBZ) ― Holbrook residents are fearful after learning a person in their apartment complex was murdered.

According to the district attorney's office, 25-year-old Osahon Ighodaro was found dead in an apartment at 166 Longmeadow Drive in Holbrook. Police say he had been stabbed to death.

Police say Ighodaro was a Nigerian immigrant who worked at a parking lot in Boston's Fenway neighborhood.

"He was a nice guy," said Ighodaro's friend Chris Okundaye. "Osahon was my good friend, and since he's been here he's been a good boy. It's beyond the family."

District Attorney William Keating told The Boston Globe that Ighodaro appeared to have been bound by his killer, but would not provide further details about the killing.

Keating said the victim had apparently been "targeted," and that other residents of the Ramblewood apartment complex should not be concerned for their safety.

Police said Ighodaro moved into the Ramblewood apartment community just months ago.

Residents of the complex say this murder is one of many crimes that happen at this location. Neighbors told WBZ's Bill Shields that drugs are a big problem in the community.

Police say while they do patrol the area frequently, it's all about the numbers.

"You have to understand that this is probably the largest grouping of apartment buildings in the town," said Holbrook police Chief Jonathan Cordaro.

It has been 11 years since the last murder in Holbrook.

So far there have been no arrests in this case.
