A decision on whether there will be a second autopsy on a Lynnfield woman who died in the U.S. Virgin Island has been delayed again.
Joan Baruffaldi was found by her husband Robert Harris with a bathrobe sash around her neck hanging from a shower curtain rod inside a St. John hotel room earlier this month.
Her death was originally ruled a suicide, but her father and siblings don't believe it and think that she was murdered by her husband.
According to her family, the two had a very abusive relationship.
"We never had good feelings about him, deep down thought the marriage would end in tragedy," Robert Baruffaldi, Joan's younger brother.
Joan's father and brothers went to court on Friday to request a second autopsy.
Earlier this week, a probate judge has removed Harris as an executor of his wife's will.
It will be up to the same administrator to decide whether a second autopsy will be conducted.
There is no word on when that will be.
