A Florida judge in the murder trial of former Boston FBI agent John Connolly has recused herself from the case, which could lead to a delay.
Connolly's lawyer, Manuel Casabielle, told The Boston Globe he requested the judge remove herself because she changed the official court transcript without notifying lawyers.
Judge Barbara Areces said she corrected the transcript because it contained several errors.
Connolly was set to go to trial March 17 for allegedly warning mobsters that Boston financier John Callahan would implicate them in a slaying. Callahan was later killed.
Now, the trial could be postponed so another judge can get up to speed.
A prosecutor said the judge did nothing wrong and that Connolly's lawyer was just trying to delay the case.
