Teenager Shot On MBTA Bus On Life Support

2 Other Shootings Reported In Dorchester Friday

BOSTON (WBZ) ― An 18-year-old male shot in the head on an MBTA bus in Dorchester Friday afternoon is on life support, and according to Boston Police, is not expected to survive.

The shooting took place at 3:50 p.m. at the corner of Washington Street and Columbia Road in the Grove Hall section of Dorchester.

No arrests have been made.

"The bus operator reported that three males fled the bus after the shooting," said Joe Pesaturo, spokesman for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.

"It appears he was targeted. This individual was known to police," said Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis.

The shooting came just hours after the New York-based Guardian Angels were to begin patrols in that crime-plagued Boston neighborhood.

In addition to the MBTA shooting, Dorchester endured two other shootings on Friday.

A shooting on McClellan Street left one person dead and a shooting on Blue Hill Avenue and Wilmore Street left one person with non-life threatening injuries.
