Commuters can expect delays Friday evening at South Station.
An MBTA commuter train that derailed Thursday night near the station was removed Friday. But Amtrak, which maintains the tracks in the area, is still making repairs to a switch that was damaged in the derailment.
They hope to have the work done by the early evening.
Fairmount line service is still suspended. Passengers are being diverted to regularly scheduled bus routes.
Passengers on other lines should check the MBTA's
Web site for more information on possible delays.
No one was hurt in last night's incident. It was unclear what caused the train to derail.
